Keith Jones' Chevy Wrecker

This original kit was the AMT 1950 Chevy truck. The rusted out the body panels were simulated with a Dremel tool that ground out areas that would normally rot.

The truck was painted with red oxide automotive primer, then airbushed with Testor's beige. Pastels, washes, and Rust-all were used to weather the body and frame.

The tow boom was scratch built with Evergreen styrene, parts-box lights and a bumper hook, Ozark miniature pulleys and hook, and gears from an alarm clock.

All parts were painted flat black and Rustall was applied. The front pushbar was scratchbuilt from basswood, Evergreen styrene, and Ozark miniatures bolts.

The top front fender lights are taillights from the AMT '53 Ford truck.

The engine was wired and plumbed and treated with washes to simulate oil leaks. The interior contains tools and a used shoprag.

The fender mounted spare was a resin piece from Ron Cash Resin. Lettering and signs were from Woodland Scenes railroad dry transfers.
